Many-flowered Stickseed

$3.95

Hackelia floribunda
(also known as Wild Forget-me-not, False Forget-me-not, Tall Stickseed)

zones 4-6
20 seeds

These sweet little flowers are nearly identical to true forget-me-nots (Myosotis), distinguished by the prickles on the seeds which give the plant its common name of Stickseed. These prickles make the seed something of a nuisance to animals and hikers, who will find numerous seeds attached to socks, fur, and pants-legs. Flowers are small and pale-blue, growing in clusters at the top of 1-3’ stems. Each plant yields one or two flower stems, rarely more, and blooms from June-August.

Stickseeds prefer moist soil and light shade. They are a short-lived perennial, so allow plants to go to seed in your garden if you want them to stick around.
